Sovereign of Atlantia

The Sovereign of Atlantia is the partner of the Consort who is currently reigning over Atlantia. They are addressed as "Your Majesty" or "Your Royal Majesty" and referred to in the third person as "King/Queen/Sovereign (given name)," depending on gender. They may wear a crown to indicate their rank. They are the person who won the crown tournament.

Royalty is claimed through "Right of Arms" (armored combat). Sovereigns are selected twice a year at the Spring and Fall Crown Tournaments. The winner of the Crown Tournament becomes the Heir Apparent (the Sovereign's Heir). This means when the reigning Sovereign steps down, they will be next to be crowned Sovereign, at which time they will rule for approximately six (6) months.

A Count or Countess is a person who has reigned as Sovereign once. A Duke or Duchess is a person who has reigned as Sovereign more than once.
