Introduction

Lord Edward Perry of Middlegate is a resident of the baronial lands in Windmaster's Hill, but regularly plays with other baronies as he engages in service to the SCA and the Kingdom of Atlantia.

Edward is a 16th century accountant, teacher, and mathematician who prefers silent service, administrative duties, and making sure his checkbooks balance at the end of the day.

Served as site retainer for Their Majesties and Their Highness. Provided A&S based hospitality as per theme of event. Also served as pop-up court herald for an afternoon surprise session.

• Event Steward, Ice Castles and Barony of Black Diamond Investiture, January 25, 2025

Served as autocrat for BD’s annual birthday which includes investiture of incoming baronage. I produced ideas for A&S and the theme of the event which was Greco-Roman. Purchased site tokens for the attendees and managed the business and accounting aspects of the event. Collaborated with Baronial Seneschal and Exchequer in performing necessary functions. 133 Atlantians attended and instead of an evening feast we had a delightful lunch day board.

Assisted with troll registrations on Friday and directed traffic per site space requirements on both Friday and Saturday. Also competed in a Freya’s Cooking Competition centered around her deific domains.

• Royal Retainer and Royal Baker Participant at Kingdom Arts and Sciences Festival, March 1^st, 2025

Assisted with transport and setting up/breaking down royal furniture which has been in my care for four months. Made an Early Middle Ages Danish Bread Pudding called “Hvid Moos” which is detailed on my blog. Heralded morning court and assisted the main herald at evening court.

Managed MoL table for daylong canton-level event. Registered fighters and kept score for both rapier and heavy combat competitions. Rapier fighting consisted of one Bear Pit Tourney and Armored fighting consisted of two Bear Pit Tourneys.

Set up, served, and taught about early Viking recipes at Viking Experience attended by Barony of Windmasters Hill.

Assisted Her Majesty Iuliana as her head retainer for the event and provided savory toasted cheese and assistance Her Majesty’s Royal Tea ceremony at the event.

Served as Gate Minister for Warrior’s Games in Harleyville, SC on Saturday morning (6 hours). Served as evening royal court herald for Their Highnesses of Atlantia.

• Event Steward, Sacred Stone Baronial Birthday, September 5^th-7^th, 2025

Coordinated 350-person event at Optimist Farm Club in Apex, NC. Theme revolved around the Persian Fall Solstice festival known as Mehregan in modern day Iran. Maintained professional relationship with site owners and stewards to decorate the main cabin that housed A&S, Feast, Classes, and Children’s/Newcomers activities. SSBB played host to the Titan Tournament challenge celebrating Tethys.’ We hosted a children’s toy horse race, Kubb tournament, several A&S challenges, a class on The Tudors, and many martial challenges including archery, thrown weapons, rapier, and heavy armored. We also held baronial court for Windmasters Hill to celebrate their cooperation in making the event a success. 4 elevations took place with 3 vigil spaces being coordinated and 1 being court only.

Served as Gate Minister for SBB in Culpeper, VA on Saturday morning (6 hours). Over 180+ people attended the event.

• Gate Minister, Silver Chalice Novice Tournament, September 27^th, 2025

Served as Gate Minister for SCNT in Harleyville, SC on Saturday morning (7 hours).

• Cooking Staff, Fall Coronation, October 4^th, 2025

Served along with 10 other individuals in serving food to the populace at coronation.

• Backup Gate Minister, War of the Wings: Rise of the 300, October 15^th-18^th, 2025

Trolled in over 200+ individuals over 20 hours at gate from Thursday morning to Saturday morning at War of the Wings at Van Hoy Campgrounds in Harmony, NC. Over 700+ individuals from around the kingdoms of Atlantia, the East, and Meridies attended to celebrate our efforts to recognize distinction in service, arts and science, youth activities, and marshal activities which included thrown weapons, combat archery, youth combat, rapier, armored combat, and target archery. The gate staff were recognized by Their Majesties by being “paid for (acquiring tokens)” for their service to the entire event.

• MoL in Charge, Holiday Faire, November 22^nd, 2025

Served as MoL in charge of armored combat and rapier combat sign ins and scoring for Holiday Faire at the Barony of Stierbach in Fredericksburg, VA. Over 40+rapier fighters, 8 armored combat fighters, and 4 equestrians participated during the six hours of activities.
