	Lord Aleksandr moved to the Kingdom of Atlantia in 2018, after spending the previous 6 years in the Kingdom of Ansteorra. After a 4 year break and a persona change (from 16th Century Scottish Border Reiver to 13th Century Kievan Rus Druzhina), he polished the rust off his rapiers and pulled together some new garb, and made his Atlantian debut at War of the Wings in 2022. The following spring, at the Tournament of Ymir 2023, he entered into ~~Baron~~ Cataldo's service as a Cadet. This act was done in accordance with Ansteorran tradition, by which members of the Order of the White Scarf take on students who then wear a red scarf. The red scarf that Aleksandr wears is one of hand dyed silk, from the hands of ~~Baroness~~ Willoc mac Muiredaig, and given to Aleksandr by ~~Baron~~ Maelgwynn Dda, Aleksandr's original Don, and ~~Baron~~ Cataldo's original Knight. In the summer of 2023, Aleksandr and his wife attended their first Pennsic, and bore witness to Cataldo's elevation to the Order of the Laurel. After a series of conversations, it was agreed that Aleksandr would take on the green belt of an apprentice from ~~Baron~~ Cataldo, his focus to be in historical swordsmanship. At Hawkwood Baronial Birthday XX, in the spring of 2024, Master Cataldo bestowed a red chain collar unto Aleksandr, to represent his status as a student to a Master of Defense, which Master Cataldo attained earlier in the year.

	In support of these academic endeavors, Aleksandr primarily uses an Eastern European style saber for SCA Rapier and Cut & Thrust combat, as well as a period longsword for 2-handed Rapier and Cut & Thrust, and is working primarily on studying Jaochim Meyer's 1608 treatise with an emphasis on dussack forms, as this is the most well documented analogy to Russian, Ukrainian, Mongolian, and Polish saber combat we can find in period texts. From modern texts, both Richard Marsden's works on Polish saber and Russ Mitchell's on Hungarian Hussar saber have proven useful.
